Further the article mentions that human infection due to Nipah virus was first noted in Bangladesh. Sazzad et al. supports this fact as due to the consumption of palm sap contaminated with saliva or urine of fruit bats, more than 135 people were severely infected with Nipah virus. Further the article also World Health Organization mentioned that the caregivers who came in direct contact with such patients and their bodily fluids also developed encephalitic condition and hence, preventive measures should be taken while taking care of patients infected with Nipah virus (Sazzad et al.). Hence the questions that can be raised from the article are: what is the pathway for Nipah virus while causing encephalitis and respiratory infection in humans? Which pathway can be targeted for vaccine preparation of Nipah virus?
